Where do students live? |
Students live in one of the campus residences. CEPAS students are not differentiated from other FSC students, and students from all courses are mixed in the residences. |
Do students have a roommate? |
Yes. Students normally have one roommate. |
How are roommates allocated? |
Students fill in a questionnaire on their preferences, hobbies and habits, and this is used to match them to a suitable roommate. Alternatively, students are able to choose a roommate directly if they already have a friend in mind. |
Does this mean CEPAS students are likely to be assigned other international students as roommates? |
We prefer that students be assigned a native speaker of English, but housing issues could prevent this. We are currently developing a program with the Director of Community Living to match Americans and internationals. |
Can students change their roommates if they aren't getting along? |
Yes. This can be arranged through the Director of Community Living, Mindy Baine. |
How much does the accommodation cost? |
The price of the accommodation is included in the course fees. |
Apart from student rooms, what facilities do residences have? |
|
Resident advisor (1 per 20 students)
Please see http://www.flsouthern.edu/student_life/reslife/ for further information. |
Do the residences have codes of conduct or curfews? |
|
Yes. Some important ones are:
There are no pets allowed in the residences, and alcohol and smoking are prohibited. For more details please see http://www.flsouthern.edu/student_life/reslife/policies.htm |
Do students have parties in the residences? |
Events are constantly going on. FSC is a non-alcohol campus. Even students who are 21 years of age or older are not allowed to bring alcohol on campus, or to be intoxicated while on campus. The school is very strict about this policy. |
Applications due 2 months prior to each intake. For late applications, please contact one of our student counsellors.
